Cake Rusk's recipe is made just like a cake but it is baked twice. Cake rusk is made with all-purpose flour mixed with sugar, eggs, yellow food color, vanilla essence, and baking powder. It is baked to make a cake and then cut into pieces. Again baked until they become solid and crispy. It is an Asian dessert; it is light golden brown and crispy in taste and texture and serve with tea for breakfast or evening time.

Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour 2 cups
  • Butter ¾ cup
  • Eggs 4
  • Powdered sugar 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Yellow food color 1 drop

Method:

Beat eggs, powdered sugar, and butter in a bowl.

Add yellow color and baking powder to the all-purpose flour and mix.

Then add flour mixture, mix and put in an 8x8 pan and bake for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees C.

When ready, take it out, cut the cake rusk, spread it in the oven tray, and bake it again.

After 15 minutes of browning, take it out and serve.

Serve with tea or black coffee.
