Homemade Boondi Recipe

Boondi, a water drop measured deep-fried crispy snack arranged from gram flour and a few flavors, is a primary ingredient in making boondi dahi chat and different recipes. Apart, from gram flour, as the base ingredient, this (salted) boondi recipe uses yellow lentil powder, which makes it extra crispy and gives delighting bright golden color.

Boondi Recipe




Ingredients:

  • Gram flour (Besan) 1 cup
  • Cumin Seeds (Zeera) 1tsp
  • Yellow lentil powder (Mong Dal) 2tbsp
  • Salt (Namak) ¼ tsp
  • Water (Pani) as required
  • Oil (Tail) for frying 1+ ½ cup

Method:

In a large bowl, add gram flour, yellow lentil powder, and salt, mix with the required water, make a smooth batter, and let it rest at room temperature for 5-10 minutes.
In a wok, heat the oil, hold a round spoon with multiple small holes in it, and a little above the pan and pour 2-3 spoonfuls of batter on it droplets of batter fall into the oil, and repeat this process.
Fry over medium flame until they become golden and crisp. Drain excess oil and transfer to a plate.
Serve with yogurt and enjoy Ramadan recipes.
